7. What is the
relationship between the PGA of Canada and the GMIC?
The PGA of Canada’s minimal education requirement to become a
Class A member has always been the completion of a
3-year business administration diploma from a
recognized Canadian college. The
GMIC’s post graduate program on a stand alone basis does
not fulfill the PGA of Canada’s current educational requirements
to become a Class A member. It does when coupled
with a non-business degree or diploma.
Anyone
interested in becoming a Class A member of the PGA
of Canada
should contact the association directly at
1-800-782-5764 (www.pgaofcanada.com).
8.
How does online learning work?
The
Virtual
Classroom is an exciting
learning environment. It allows students the freedom
and flexibility to study at their own pace, and because
online courses are available throughout the year, students
can plan their program of study in the way that best
suits them. Each online course requires that students
attend a weekly chat discussion on the scheduled class
day at a specified time. It is here that the entire
class communicates with one another and their professor.
To that end, assigned chapters from textbooks and readings
from periodicals should be read and understood in advance
of the class.
9.
How do you submit assignments for assessment?
Assignments
are completed and presented in one of the following
three ways:
a)
Students make a factual presentation/group case to the
class during class time.
b)
Students e-mail assignments to instructors. These assignments
are created in a word processor or
spreadsheet, and are sent as attachments to e-mail messages
in the prescribed form.
c)
Assignments can also be sent through regular mail. If
an assignment can't be sent by e-mail, an instructor
might require that it be mailed.
